MagLau is the fusion of two artists, united in work and in life.
He, born in France in 1968, is a photographer, she, born in Georgia in 1974, is a painter. They live and work in Brussels.
MagLau is the result of this romantic encounter that made them unite painting and photography. Interacting with their sensibilities and their own stories, they develop a dark aesthetic, where black dominates between bursts of intense light.
MagLau offers us a ride in a fantasy world that is the product of their fears, fantasies and desires. In a kind of new surrealism, materials and processes combine to form unique works immediately recognizable by their strength and uniqueness.
They have made numerous solo exhibitions these past five years but they exhibit for the first time together in Belgium. A book is currently being prepared, 'Fetish ballad', retracing part of their work within an 'underground' world.
